The Challenge
The Knightsbridge building as we know it today, was designed and built in stages between 1889 and 1894 and presents many challenges when carrying out building related upgrades or refurbishments.
With branded merchandise, and leisure facilities now available over nine floors the store is fitted with a radio frequency fire alarm system to avoid the need for miles and miles of connective cabling. However, a change in legislation to the frequency over which radio fire alarms have to operate meant that any new equipment installed could not be managed using a single operating system as the frequencies would be different.
The Solution
Tecserv is renowned for its consultative approach, and together with Electro Detectors, a trusted partner and a leading manufacturer of radio fire alarm systems, we have been able to provide Harvey Nichols with a bespoke solution that has enabled the new and existing equipment to be monitored by one centralised system. As a result, we have been able to help Harvey Nichols embark on a carefully phased project to install a brand new radio fire alarm systems across all floors over the next three to five years.
