The fire detection systems and arrangements already in place at Ampleforth needed a structural reorganisation. This posed some initial problems as many of the fire safety systems also needed updating.
While carrying out the reorganisation and update, it was important to ensure minimal disruption to the learning and teaching timetable so that the college campus remained fully functional.
