The Challenge
A Fire Risk Assessment by the by North West Leicestershire District Council established that the existing Fire Detection and Emergency Lighting Systems within 6 sheltered accommodation schemes required upgrading to confirm to current British Standards. Specific consideration was required to minimise disruption to residents during the installation and to ensure that the completed systems minimised any unwanted alarms.
The Solution
Tecserv UK Ltd designed and installed new Analogue Addressable Fire Detections systems conforming to the requirements of BS5839 Part 1 2013 Type L3 using Gent Vigilon control equipment together with a self contained non maintained Emergency Lighting system obedient to the requirements of BS5266. Through detailed planning and communications with the Council and residents, we were able to install these new systems with little disruption or inconvenience to all parties involved.
