Why maintain a commercial CCTV system?

Imagine there has been a break-in at your commercial premises or some malicious damage has been done to property or vehicles. You may be thinking great, I’ll have the culprits filmed on CCTV and at least I can try to seek a prosecution!

However, now imagine the disappointment when you access your system and rewind to watch the recording only to find that the scenes have either failed to record, or the images are too obscured by dirt or overgrown trees to be admissible in court?

How gutted will feel that your chances of delivering high definition quality images as evidence to the Police to secure a prosecution have been hampered?

Also, very often the presence of a well maintained CCTV system is also a condition laid down by an insurer before commercial insurance protection is valid. Therefore, another consequence is that your insurance could be invalidated for failure to maintain your CCTV system properly.

These scenario’s are far more likely to happen if the maintenance of your commercial CCTV systemand equipment is neglected and you have failed to have it regularly serviced and inspected.

Security and the provision of evidence are just two of many benefits to installing a CCTV system and ensuring it is regularly maintained. Other advantages include cost reduction. CCTV camera’s can be monitored from one remote location and used to monitor multiple sites, reducing the need for a physical manned security presence at each site. CCTV can also help with marketing, dishonesty and loss prevention.

One way to ensure CCTV maintenance is carried out regularly is to appoint a quality assured company like Tecserv UK who offer CCTV maintenance agreements.
