The Challenge

Tecserv UK has been maintaining the fire alarm, intruder and access control systems that protected the Friar Lane offices for over 15 years. As an expanding firm, in 2006, a decision was taken to relocate all staff to newer offices more suited to the needs of a modern law firm to serviced offices at Castle Heights on Maid Marian Way.

The main challenge was to ensure the systems protecting both locations were conjoined but could still be monitored and controlled via one single panel, whilst also ensuring the aesthetics of a modern building and those of a historical building were considered. The Castle Heights offices also spanned many floors to which staff would need to be assigned personalised access rights.

The Solution

Our role includes carrying out all the necessary system maintenance, component repairs and fire extinguisher inspections required to ensure Fraser Brown is compliant with all legislation.

When the firm relocated staff to serviced offices on Maid Marian Way, Fraser Brown approached Tecserv UK to install  a door entry control system for the floors and offices suites its staff would occupy.

A Paxton Net2 Access Control System was installed which was integrated into the main security systems control panel so that management of fire and security systems was centralised.

The Outcome

The installation of the system and the provision of ongoing maintenance means Fraser Brown has evidence of a robust approach to fire prevention and security risk management. Its building and the security of staff is protected and its HR function has been provided with a means to track absence management and employee time keeping.

Robin Davies

IT Manager

Having taken the decision to operate from multiple City Centre offices, a key requirement was to centralise the management of our systems and install a door entry system that would be as reliable as the rest of the systems Tecserv were maintaining. The installation of the new system was done seamlessly with little interruption to the daily workings of a busy law firm. Anytime we approached Tecserv with a question or challenge they presented a solution. Throughout the works, and since their completion, we had total confidence that our buildings were secure.”
